Privacy policy.
Short version: we don't collect personal data, we don't sell anything we don't have, and the third-party requests your browser makes from this site are to Google Fonts, Cloudflare's cookieless analytics beacon, and to Amazon when you click an outbound link. Google Analytics only loads if you accept the cookie banner.
What we collect
Nothing on this site asks for your name, email, or any other personal information. We don't run accounts, sign-ups, or paywalls. If we add a newsletter later, opt-in will be explicit and the form will tell you exactly what you're agreeing to.
Analytics
We use two analytics tools.
Cloudflare Web Analytics — always-on, cookieless, no fingerprinting, no cross-site tracking. It tells us aggregate pageview counts and referrers only. No consent required because no personal data is collected. Cloudflare's privacy overview →
Google Analytics 4 — consent-gated. GA4 only loads if you click "Accept analytics" on the cookie banner. If you decline or haven't been asked yet, no GA4 requests leave your browser. When active, GA4 is configured with IP anonymization. You can also opt out any time using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or withdraw your consent via the link in our footer.
Cookies
Our site itself sets one item in your browser's localStorage
(key: xxxtea_analytics_consent) to remember your cookie
banner choice. This is not a cookie and is never sent to any server.
If you accept analytics, Google Analytics sets two first-party cookies:
_ga and _ga_P889LLFBNK.
Both expire after 2 years. They distinguish unique visitors and sessions; they do not
contain personal information. The Cloudflare analytics beacon sets no cookies. The
tag=xxxtea-20 parameter on Amazon outbound links is a
URL parameter, not a cookie — it lets Amazon attribute purchases to us.
Outbound links
Every /go/<id> link on this site
redirects to Amazon with our affiliate tag attached. Once you've clicked the link
you're on Amazon's site under Amazon's privacy policy — read theirs at
amazon.com/privacy.
Third parties
Page loads request fonts from Google Fonts and analytics from Cloudflare (always-on, cookieless). Google Analytics is only contacted if you consent. We do not run Meta Pixel, retargeting scripts, or any ad-tech beyond what is described above. We do not sell visitor data to any third party.
Your rights (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you are located in the EU or UK, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; request correction or deletion; request that we restrict or stop processing; request a machine-readable copy (portability); and withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing. Because we collect no personal data directly, most requests will confirm there is nothing to provide — but you are entitled to that confirmation. Contact takedown@xxxtea.com.
California residents (CCPA)
We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of sale — there is nothing to opt out of, but the right exists. Children
This site is intended for an adult audience. We don't knowingly collect anything from anyone, but in particular we don't knowingly collect anything from children under 13.
Changes
If we change how we handle data — particularly if we add an email signup or anything ad-tech related — this page gets updated and the change history is in our public git log.
